SCORM is legacy content packaging for LMS portability. xAPI tracks learning beyond course boundaries mobile, simulations, on-the-job training. If distributing across multiple LMS platforms, SCORM matters because adoption is slow. Building your own platform with rich analytics? xAPI is better. Modern platforms support both.
